Low Pressure Pulsation Dampeners with PTFE / Plastomer Membrane
Medium & low pressure pulse dampeners using ptfe diaphragm and corrosion resistant hydro-forged housings. Aka "snubbers" - suction "bottles" construction, having: membrane from ptfe / "LDi flexflon" / EIDupont "Teflon" t hat has been made homogeneous by heating to the gel temperature. The diaphragm is re-molded to provide a contour which when fully deflected has a surface area substantially the same as the vessel housing against which it will be thrust. This to prevent stretching and "cold flow" distortion of the membrane. The membrane is also provided with means to prevent the extrusion thereof into port or ports provided for liquid flow. Said prevention of extrusion provided by parts aka "anti-extrusion plate" Anti-extrusion plate seal ably located and attached to said membrane in such a manner that flexing movement of membrane does not pull on nor disturb said sealing method Said dampener anti-extrusion plate also providing means to prevent membrane rupture if dampener is pressurized on the liquid side without first applying a pre-fill cushion of gas to the cushion side of the membrane.
The pressure bottles' housing / vessel for pulsation dampener is comprised of two parts each supported by flange rings complying with stress level and metal to metal contact outside a bolt circle, in accordance with asme viii appendix 1 and appendix "y". Said bolts on a circle, so spaced as to provide material between bolt holes that enables the proper transfer of bending moment to be resisted by the outermost diameter of metal to metal contact. Boltings set by calibrated torque to 70% of yield, and having sufficient elasticity plus ductility to allow parting of the bolted parts that will allow the safe escape of pressure.
